Software Phase Correction Technique for Passive Radar

چکیده
A traditional radar actively transmits pulses and receive the corresponding echoes. By computing time taken to echoes system is able detect targets estimate their ranges. However, mainly for military applications, an active has a major drawback: it can be detected by enemy since radiates electromagnetic pulses. As such, there currently high research development activity in field of passive systems. In this alternative scenario, does transmit any signal. Instead, uses signals already present environment, such as TV, radio broadcasts satellite digital video broadcast transmitters opportunity. measuring difference between signal received transmitter opportunity echoed targets, scenarios which use very low power illuminators opportunity, DVB-S or GPS, relatively long integration times are required order obtain reasonable values noise ratio. This implies that, besides frequency correction, coherency local oscillators receivers need maintained during intervals, difficult. The paper presents novel phase correction technique target area, references maintain all interval. proposed methodology quite simple enables low-cost hardware with independent reference surveillance channels geographically distributed. obtained results illustrate effectiveness applicability method.

Speckle processing method for synthetic-aperture-radar phase correction.
Uncompensated phase errors present in synthetic-aperture-radar data can have a disastrous effect on reconstructed image quality. We present a new iterative algorithm that holds promise of being a robust estimator and corrector for arbitrary phase errors. Our algorithm is similar in many respects to speckle processing methods currently used in optical astronomy. We demonstrate its ability to foc...

Passive radar systems exploit non-cooperative transmitter to detect targets in areas of interest. Some of the main advantages of such systems with respect to conventional radars include low cost architectures, low energy requirements and potentially null probability of intercept. Digital waveforms like DVB-T and UMTS signals offer relatively wide bandwidth channels which allow achieving good sp...
متن کاملPhase Error Compensation Technique for Improved Synthetic Aperture Radar Performance
adar data contain phase errors whose sources include uncompensated platform motion and transmitter and receiver phase errors. Achieving theoretical resolution from a pulse compression system requires a method to minimize those phase errors. This article discusses a method of estimating and correcting phase errors in synthetic aperture radar data. The method requires that one or more stationary ...
متن کاملA Soft-Input Soft-Output Target Detection Algorithm for Passive Radar
Abstract: This paper proposes a novel scheme for multi-static passive radar processing, based on soft-input soft-output processing and Bayesian sparse estimation. In this scheme, each receiver estimates the probability of target presence based on its received signal and the prior information received from a central processor. The resulting posterior target probabilities are transmitted to the c...
متن کاملA Generalized Phase Correction Technique for EPI-PROPELLER
INTRODUCTION: PROPELLER (Periodically rotated overlapping parallel lines with enhanced reconstruction [1]) based on echo planar imaging (EPI) [2,3] can acquire wider blades with increased time efficiency compared to fast-spin echo (FSE)-based PROPELLER [4]. However, EPI-based sequences suffer from Nyquist ghosts arising primarily from eddy currents and gradient anisotropy [5], thus requiring ph...
